Lily's awesome new talent is playing 'Peek-a-Boo' or 'Where's-the-Baby?'. Give the kid a blanket and ask 'Where's the baby?" and she'll play with you. Her Daddy is oh-so proud! I get a kick out of listening to her, as she tends to giggle while she's at it!

Katie and Johnny showing Lyle a.k.a. Papa how to use the controls for the Wii system. I understand that Johnny beat both Mike and Papa in bowling!

Donald is hanging out waiting his turn to play with the Wii (a video game system that encourages active participation i.e. you hold the controls and mimic the actions required in the game. For bowling, you would actually use your arms to send the bowling ball down the lane)

Connie and Cora are hanging out.

David is showing me his Batman moves!

This is a self portrait of Katie and her Papa!

Whalen, David and Jojo are enjoying their pizza lunch picnic style - under the kitchen table :-)

Lily is wearing a headband that Katie wore in 1999 to her Aunt's wedding!

Beeton Public Libary (where Mike works on his thesis four days a week)

I just uploaded 403 photos from the past three days! My niece Katie helped me out today taking some photos. She is a talented photographer - sometimes the camera just doesn't do what she'd like! We've got Lily on Oat cereal now. I'm not a fan as I don't get the sense that she is loving it. Part of me just wants to bring out the veggies and let her go at them, but I'm going to try to stick with the cereal for another week or two then I'll bring out the good stuff!

Today we went over to my sister's place. It was Mike, Lily and myself, plus Connie and her family visiting Liz and her family. It was a fun afternoon. Katie even got Lyle (a.k.a. Papa) to play Wii bowling - quite the sight!

I've also included some photos of Beeton. It's a village of approx 4,000 people. My family moved here in 1986 when I was 9 and then I returned 20 years later with my own family at 29! I love being here as I'm close to my sisters and get to spend some time with them, but also the actual town. We have shops on the main street, a local grocery store and a Shopper's Drug Mart. More importantly is that when I walk with Lily we know the people. The clerks at the store interact with Lily and comment on how much she's grown and they ask how the family is. This is important to me as I want to live in a community, not just in a house. I want Lily to know the importance of knowing your neighbours and the qualities it takes to be a good person. I love that Lily gets to be near many of her cousins (two of her cousins, 6 1/2 year old Ryelin and 9 1/2 month old Olyvia live in Lumsden, Saskatchewan) and that each week we get to hang out with friends and their kids, or her cousins. It's been a great way to spend my maternity leave!

Here is Lily looking all sassy in her knitted outfit from her Grandmama (Mike's Mom's Mom).

Good Day! I need your help out there! Mike's fav colour is green, mine is blue. At my parents' place our bedroom walls are blue while our comforter is green. I didn't feel that it complimented each other so I've been looking for a fabric for some pillows to pull it all together (I admit it - I spend an obscene amount of time watching home decorating shows). I found one and brought home the pillow and showed Mike. His response was 'It looks a little Bumpkin (a.k.a something you'd find in the home of a hillbilly). Whereas I found the pattern to be sassy. So, I'd love to hear your take on the fabric. My marriage depends on it :-)

We've had a great week here in Beeton. Lily has spent some time getting to know Scout and Callie, the new 'energetic' kitten. I especially enjoy the posterior photo of Lily and Scout. This week Scout was looking rather homely so Lyle and Mike took the sheers to him. We've got a before, during and after photo to show for the efforts. Michelle and her 5 year old Erynn came by on Thursday and we did some baking. Lily thought this was a great time to play with her toys so we got a photo of Lily, myself and most of Lily's favourite toys. Lily introduced Callie to her new fabric flower. Callie was terrified of the flower and took every chance she had to attack it. There is a photo of Lily and Scout watching Callie mid-flight while she attacks. Last week when Lily had her Dr's appointment we learned that she weighs in at 20lbs (as Mike gently points out ~ it's the same as a sac of potatoes!) and is over the 95th percentile for her age.

We had a great day today as we hung out with Uncle Moose (Daniel) and Aunt Jennifer in Toronto. We had a great meal and walked around Eglinton for a bit then Dan introduced Lily to duct tape. Lily and I also took turns dropping food on the furniture (Sorry again Jen). This past week while Lily napped on my lap I took some shots of her finer features. Her little ears, her delicate peaceful face, her strong hands and her beautiful strawberry blond hair. It's so hard to believe that she is 6 1/2 months old. Our niece Cora is also growing as she is 2 1/2 months old and Lily takes every opportunity to hang out with her! Hope you have had a great week too. PPS

Happy Valentine's Day! I thought that I'd include some photos of the 'photo shoot'! Lily was doing awesome until I realized that she had chomped off a bit of the paper heart so I took it from her resulting in the 'angry baby' photo! To all of you out there, may today be filled with laughter and love!

Cheers,
Pamela
